Convertly Launches First Independent Trust & Safety Centre for Telegram Advertising

By Femi Adeyemi

Convertly today announced the launch of Convertly Trust & Safety, the first independent initiative dedicated to improving transparency and accountability within Telegram advertising.

As Telegram continues to grow as an important marketing channel across Africa and other emerging markets, more brands are turning to Telegram communities to reach highly engaged audiences. However, buying advertising directly from channel owners often relies on trust alone, leaving advertisers exposed to campaign disputes, non-delivery, fake engagement and publishers disappearing after payment.

Convertly Trust & Safety has been created to help address these challenges by providing advertisers with a central resource for reporting dishonest channels, reviewing documented enforcement actions, learning about common Telegram advertising scams and following best practices when buying community advertising.

The initiative forms part of Convertly's broader mission to build a safer and more transparent ecosystem for Telegram advertising.

"Telegram advertising is one of the fastest-growing opportunities for brands, but trust hasn't kept pace," said Emeka Nwosu, Co-Founder of Convertly.

"Over the past year we've spoken to advertisers who have lost money through failed campaigns, misleading audience claims and channels who simply disappeared after receiving payment. We believe the industry deserves higher standards."

"Trust & Safety isn't about naming and shaming channels. It's about creating accountability, protecting advertisers and recognising the channels who consistently deliver quality campaigns."

At launch, Trust & Safety includes a public record of documented enforcement actions taken by Convertly, a facility for advertisers to report dishonest channels and submit supporting evidence, educational resources to help brands identify common Telegram advertising scams, and best practice guidance for buying advertising safely within Telegram communities.

Convertly says every report submitted through Trust & Safety will be reviewed before any action is taken, with decisions based on documented evidence rather than unverified claims. Channels will also have the opportunity to respond where appropriate.

While initially focused on Telegram advertising, Convertly believes trust and transparency will become fundamental components of community advertising across platforms as brands increasingly invest in communities rather than traditional social media feeds.

"As community advertising continues to grow, advertisers need independent infrastructure that helps them make informed decisions," added Nwosu.

"Our ambition is for Convertly Trust & Safety to become the industry's trusted resource for transparency, helping brands advertise with greater confidence while rewarding publishers who operate professionally."

Trust & Safety is available immediately and welcomes submissions from advertisers who have experienced issues buying advertising directly from Telegram channels.
